Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

At the beginning of Year 8, every tutor group nominates one student to be their Anti-Bullying Ambassador for the year. This group of ten students attend a training session run by The Diana Award and then meet with a member of staff weekly to discuss, plan and implement anti-bullying campaigns in school; this may include tutor activities, lunchtime activities, competitions, posters and banners, or student voice. Throughout the year, the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors work towards one of The Diana Award’s three badges: Inclusion, Well-Being or Community. At the end of Year 8, students pass the ABA baton onto the next year group, however they have the option of remaining involved with whole-school anti-bullying campaigns right up until the end of their Ringwood School journey.

Here is an example of a whole-school pledge that our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors made and asked students and staff to sign. It is 4m long and now hangs proudly on the wall of our school canteen:

Student Anti-Bullying Charter

The student anti-bullying charter was created by our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and then updated and agreed by all students through Student Voice. We expect all students to live by this charter in their time at Ringwood School.
